Man From the South

There are many modifications that are necessary for a woman who has lost her fingers. In a woman's daily routine, she has to fix her hair. (blow drying, curling, flat ironing, brushing, etc)  This is an occupation that almost always  requires two hands. The wife who has lost 3 fingers, has most likely had to change her hair style and the process that she uses to fix her hair. Another occupation that is part of her routine is getting dressed. Because she is a woman she has to put on a bra, which is quite complicating- especially with one hand. They make adaptive equipment that assist  women in latching their bras in the back. This adaptation would be beneficial for the wife who has lost her fingers. In her role as a wife, she most likely has a responsibility to prepare meals and clean the house. For preparing meals, there are adaptive devices such as cutting boards that are stable on the counter. This allows her to be able to cut whatever she is preparing, with only one hand.

Sydney, I really liked how you thought about all aspects that go into fixing hair and getting dressed. I considered the challenges she would face getting dressed but it did not even cross my mind about how challenging it would be to take off/put on her bra. I love that you attached a picture of the adaptive equipment!
